¡Oh esta todo bien!

Ok so last Monday after p-day we visited the nonmember parents of a member and we gave them blessings and now we are teaching them. The dad has talked to missionaries a ton of times in the past, but now he is really sick, so we think he is ready to accept the gospel. When we went on Monday he was a little defensive, but then when we went back on Tuesday he was really receptive and said that he was going to really pray and ask if the Book of Mormon is true.

Man the more time i have here the less things i have to write about. We had our district council on Wednesday and some elders showed up like 30 minutes late and the zone leader told them to sit down and shut up when they came in. Then we had interchanges and i went to another area to work with one of the zone leaders and it was good. At the end of the day he made crepes. Then in the morning we woke up early to wake and bake (i think that's what its called in English) some other elders to see if they were ready on time. When we got there, they were all ready, so nothing too exciting.

While my comp was in our area with the other zone leader they found a lady from Nicaragua, so now we are teaching her and her family. They are really cool and have an interesting story. Basically they were on trains and walking for a month to get from Nicaragua to mexico. They said that tonight they are going to make us some food from their country, so hopefully its good.

The ward here has been falling more and more the past couple of years, so we have been looking for a lot of in-actives/less actives. We find that, they accept our message, they cry and say they're going to go back to church, they don't go to church. That's basically been my week. We are going to have to think up some creative ways to get these people back to church.

Yesterday an older man in the ward took us around to visit some references he had for us. They were all super sick and had diabetes, so i guess the moral of the story is that you shouldn't drink a lot of coke because if you do you will be paying for it in your later years.

That's all for this week.

La Semana Santa pt. 2

Last week we found some members who have a burrito place (burritos are really hard to find here) and he gave us free burritos so that was probably the highlight of everything.

My companion had to go to the hospital for some stomach problems he has and he has to decide if he wants to go home to get it fixed or not. So, he has been trying to decide all week.

I did interchanges this week with some elders in my district. One of them just barely got here and he is from the states and it reminds me of when i first got here and not being able to say anything.

We also found out and met the only living survivor from the Canoa incident (look it up) and he is in our ward and is a member. He only has two fingers on his left hand because all of the others were cut off by a machete. We haven't gotten to hear the full story from him yet, but we're going to have him tell it to us.

On Saturday some members invited us to the baptism of their daughter. We sat at the kids table after with the food and we easily had the best table. We were making all of them laugh and then out of nowhere they decided it would be funny to insult us. We went from being their best friends to their targets of bullying in seconds.

Last night i called one of the elders in my district and told him he was going to translate for Elder Holland in the conference that we are going to have.He was so excited he was yelling and couldn't breath,. Then i told him it was a joke and he got so mad. It was the funniest thing ever.

Semana Santa wasn't even crazy this year. We just had to go home early on Friday and we saw more drunk people than usual. If i was in a pueblo i would have seen some tied up to be crucified. I guess i'll have to come back next year.

That's all i'm going to write

Alamos

Good afternoon.

This week we opened area and i would have to say that we did it pretty well. We were pretty lost for the first two days, but after that we basically learned the area. It helps that it's pretty small, about 35 minutes to walk from one end of it to the other. When we showed up, the house was a disaster (thanks hermanas) there are no doors on the bathroom/shower, the door to the house doesn't lock, and its just overall in very bad condition, but luckily i'm a master cleaner so the toilet went from a dark brownish color to spotless white. The shower still needs some work. You would think that living with sisters i would be used to long hairs clogging the shower drain, but no i'm not. Its still gross.

The area is pretty cool. It's in the city, but its mostly houses so there are lots of people and places to contact. Everybody says that it is dangerous, but we haven't seen anything, so i think its all good.

The missionaries before didn't really leave anything for us, so we have just been looking for people from the area book. We have been really blessed and we were able to find a bunch of people to teach. We have found a lot of people and we are hoping that we can help them come to church. We found 2 girls who have been going to church for 2 months, but haven't been baptized. Needless to say we put a date for them in 3 weeks and if all goes according to plan we will move it up to 2 weeks. We have found tons of members too, inactives and actives. Overall it seems like most of the inactives have problems with the leadership of the ward, so we are going to have to investigate a little bit more to see what's really going on behind the scenes.

Satan has also been working really hard. My comp got bit like 1000 times by who knows what and i got really sick stomachly (is that even a word?) on Saturday. We are both doing a lot better now though. The assistants also tried to take away our p-day for basically nothing (long story, but we talked to president and now we have our p-day back).
A lot of other stuff happened, but i don't have my notes and this keyboard is the worst, so i'm done typing.

"Time is running out"

I don't have any notes to go off of and i don't remember what we did last week.
I think the whole week i was just waiting for conference, so i really cant remember what we did. This is going to be a short letter.

Conference was good i really enjoyed being able to listen to all of the talks and hearing the voice of the Lord. I think the overarching theme that i saw throughout it all is that God has a very deep and real love for each and everyone of us. There were also lots of good questions that we need to ask ourselves to do a self-examination. I would have to say that the Prophet took the cake with the best two talks, first the priesthood session talk and then his talk Sunday morning. I loved his invitation to repent and be better people and that we should do it everyday. Then he threw down the doctrine Sunday morning and told us all straight up that there is no other way than the sealing power of the priesthood for a family to be together after this life. He radiates the spirit and power of God with every word he says. I guess there wont be any announcements coming and i do love what Elder Holland (I think it was him) said. We are basically so caught up in the announcements that we don't see the spirituality behind them.

Saturday after the 2 sessions of conference we also had the baptism of Guadalupe. Pure miracle story right there. I knocked her down one night, she told us to come back during the day and 3 weeks later she is baptized. Its so amazing to see her faith. Even though she still doesn't understand everything and she is still learning she does know that this church is true and that the baptism we do is by the proper priesthood authority. I had the opportunity to baptize her and the only problem was the water. There was hardly any. Like probably 2 feet. She basically had to kneel down and we had to do it twice, but in the end she got baptized (shout out to the bishopric for not paying to have water).

And last, but not least, we had our transfer news. Last night at 10:30 we still hadn't received anything, so we went to bed. Then at midnight we got a call from the assistants telling us our changes. I of course asked "what the heck are you doing calling us this late" and he replied "giving you your transfers" so, i guess i couldn't argue with that. I'm now back in Puebla; i'm in an area that is called Alamos and its basically the opposite of the pueblo i was just barely in. We are opening the area, so we have no idea where anything is at. We also don't have the privilege of having google maps or any map for that matter. I'm also back as district leader, so i guess things will be fun. My new companion is named Elder Quinaya and he is from Peru.

That's it for this week

Rocketman

And like that 3 months of 2019 are gone.

This week was a little slower. We had interviews with President and they were good. nothing out of the ordinary.
We also had intercambios so i went to another area for a day and worked there. It was fun and we were able to visit the "Big Daddy" of Zacatelco. Then that night as tradition states we bought tacos, but we had nothing to drink so we ate tacos and then got super dehydrated from not drinking anything with them, but totally worth it. I also made pancakes the next morning and they came out good if i do say so myself. Then i created a pancake taco with the left over taco meat we had and well that probably wasn't the best idea i've had.

I had a bunch of stuff written down about what we did, but now that i read it, it comes off really boring. I went to a pharmacy to get medicine for my ankle, i bought some cool pens, the bathroom and kitchen sink and everything is getting clogged and nobody wants to come and fix it etc.

We are teaching an older lady who lives alone and doesn't have a bathroom and we've been trying to get the Elder Quorum to come and help us build it, but they never want to do anything. So, we had our mission correlation Saturday morning and when we went to visit her Saturday afternoon the ward mission leader, his son, and the elders quorum president were there working on the bathroom so that was awesome. Not to spoil anything, but you should be seeing her in white this coming week.

Yesterday we ate with the awesome Argentinian and he made us pizza again and i didn't get a picture, but it was good. Then that night some members called us and asked to come over and we went and they had a cake for me, so that was cool. I think the best thing that happened this week though was yesterday when we were eating the pizza the wife of this Argentinian said that i looked like Ryan Gosling. I don't know if she's half blind or what, but that's probably the best compliment i've ever gotten.

Anyway have a good week and enjoy conference
